Albert
Brunchers rejoice! I found an incredible brunch in Brussels at Albert
Situated on the 5th floor of the Bibliothèque royale de Belgique, Mont des Arts, this rooftop restaurant has breathtaking views and a gorgeous space in an iconic building. The current building was built between 1954 and 1969 and has retained that beautiful architectural design from the early ‘60s. Lines, wood, stone and light work in perfect harmony.
Albert pride themselves on their locally sourced ingredients and the dishes change often as they follow the seasons. This all you can eat buffet is honestly the best one I’ve had in years. And for 28€ (excluding drinks) we really got our money’s worth (we were there for just over 3 hours!).
All you Ottolenghi fans will be very pleased with their perfectly paired sprouts with labneh and truffle, cabbage and leek with miso and mustard sauce and pumpkin with hummus with hazelnuts. Instead of the classic scrambled eggs, they served chakchouka. A Middle Eastern specialty with seasoned spinach, tomatoes and poached eggs. They also had a Bellevue salmon with sauce vierge and gravlax salmon. A really good chicken estragon was also one of their meat dishes.
I could keep going on about this place, but you should really try it for yourself. The space lends itself perfectly to groups. So plan that outing with friends and family without hesitation.
